  • S.T.E.M. is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. For many of our students, STEM education is the reason they are excited about school. Science fairs, robotics competitions, computer programming events, alternative energy, digital music and movie making projects are just some of the activities that bring STEM to life
  • Athletics builds character and teaching values like citizenship, sportsmanship, teamwork and hard work. Football, baseball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, swimming and golf are but a few of the athletic programs we feature on our campuses. Many of our student-athletes have gone onto to careers in professional sports, but many more have become prominent citizens who continue to make a positive impact in our region.
  • The Arts teach essential skills that help prepare students for college and career in the 21st Century: creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking. The arts can have a positive impact on school culture, motivating student attitudes and attendance. Students involved in the arts are four times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement
  • Our expanded learning programs equip 14,000 elementary, middle and high school students on 61 school campuses to be college and career ready by providing them after-school, summer and out-of-school disguised learning opportunities such as art, youth voice, dance, theatre, poetry and STEM. The Harvard Family Research Project study attributes less disciplinary action; lower dropout rates; better academic performance in school (grades and test scores); greater on-time promotion improved homework completion and improved work habits to expanded learning.
