TERMS AND GUIDELINES
“T.A.G YOU’RE I.T.” stands for
Teachers Appreciation Gala for Inspiring Teachers
. For the purposes of our TAG Awards, we are defining the word “teacher” very broadly to include classroom teachers as well as other personnel such as a reading specialist, counselor, athletic coach, librarian, principal, or office staff. These are all acceptable nominations.
✅ Students can tag any SCUSD teacher from any grade who has inspired them to achieve, dream, persevere, succeed, learn, develop, or find the right pathway.
✅ Tags for a particular teacher may come from an entire class /group or a single student/ community member.
✅ When a student “tags a teacher,” they are declaring that a particular teacher is inspiring, and they are nominating that teacher for a
Teachers Appreciation Award.
✅ When a community member “tags a teacher,” they are declaring that a particular teacher is inspiring, and they are agreeing to buy that teacher a ticket to the
Teachers Appreciation Gala
. If someone in the community (parent, another teacher, business, church or a community-based organization) would like to tag a teacher, they must also tell us why you/they are nominating a particular teacher, but they must also purchase the teacher a ticket.
✅ ALL TAGS must have a 50 words or less statement as to WHY and HOW a particular teacher is inspiring.
✅ SUEF recognizes that all of our teachers are inspirational in some capacity, but our TAG selection committee will review all student tags and will choose (7) Inspiring Teachers. The winning teachers will be given a complimentary ticket for an additional guest to attend the Gala on May 18.
✅ The committee’s decisions will be FINAL
As the Teacher Appreciation Gala is NOT a popularity contest, the number of “TAGs” a teacher receives will have no influence on our judges’ decision.
The judges will only accept one tag per person, and their decision is FINAL.
